as my title suggests, yes, i am totally random. but hopefully in the quagmire of all the thoughts that pour in one ear and out the other, i hope to learn more about me, and grow as a person and as an artist.

San Francisco... amazing place

I was just reading one of my lil sister's blogs and she mentions how the city feels like home. I've lived in the city for 4-5 years and i miss it. true, i'm only a hop, skip and a bridge away, but i'm in suburbanville compared to the city. it was nice being able to get on a muni and basically have urban sprawl feel comforting and exciting at the same time. at least i work there, so i should be able to get out more often and explore it's beauty, grace, grunge, and vibe again.

still... i feel at home is still in sac. i guess it's because of where my truest of friends live. it's where i don't feel like i have to be anything other than who i am and feel like it's alright to be me. plus a lot of memories will stay there.

i'll write more later. still early and i'm still sniffling!

still sick

finally full blown sick! blah! monday morning: sore throat. went to work and sore throat went away. tuesday morning: sore throat but didn't go away. went to work but when i got to rehearsal, it went downhill. didn't feel good and left. stayed home wed and today. still went to my playwriting class last night with patty cachepero. she was... cool. a little out there - cute too. a little older than me, and still pretty eccentric. it was an interesting class. kinda sux that it's only 2 sessions though. wish it was longer to learn more. the stories high workshops REALLY helped me a lot, but i've also learned a lot from the different playwriting books that i've bought. the next steps, other than actually writing plays, is attending more workshops. if i had money and time i would seriously consider going to sfsu and major in creative writing because of their playwriting major. but i'm pretty much past that - but i still can take these classes and eventually get more and more of my work out there.

rehearsal was good last night. had a check in with our shadow crew and went through the whole play with what we need to have done and see what the directors were expecting from us. at least we have our screen up and we can start work. after the couple of scenes that i'm in, i hope that i can just stay in the back. what was fun too was that i got to sing with the musicians Bayan Ko to make sure that the chords they were playing were right. G said that he liked my voice. funny, drea said the same thing the other night. i'm like in my head, pshh, listen to mah friends and they can SAAANG! anyways, i got hella shy and said thanks. but it was nice to get see that all three phases (Movers, Shadows, & Music) are starting to FINALLY come together!

still sniffling... nyt!

Dedication to the Tropas...

Joey: [voice over] And now that this scared little girl no longer follows me wherever I go, I miss her. I do. 'Cause there are things I wanna tell her-- to relax, to lighten up, that it is all going to be ok. I want her to know that meeting people who like you, who understand you, who actually accept you for who you are, will become an increasingly rare occurrence. Jen, Jack, Audrey, Andie, Pacey, and Dawson. These people who contributed to who I am, they are with me wherever I go, and as history gets rewritten in small ways with each passing day, my love for them only grows. Because the truth is... it was the best of times. Mistakes were made, hearts were broken, harsh lessons learned, but all of that has receded into fond memory now. How does it happen? Why are we so quick to forget the bad and romanticize the good? Maybe it's because we need to believe that the time we spent together actually meant something, that we were there for each other in a time in our lives that defined us all, a time in our lives that we will never forget. I can't swear this is exactly how it happened. But this is how it felt.

She did it AGAIN!

My ma is trying to set me up with this girl/woman sorry named Aileen. i'm pretty sure i've already talked about her on here already, but yeah. but EVERYTIME me and my mom talk on the phone, she ALWAYS asks about her, like if i got her email. no. so then earlier she calls me up from the fil-am club where she's volunteering and then she goes, "Hold on..." Yup. she put Aileen on the phone.

GRRRRR!!!!

i have nothing against Aileen. she's really nice, BUT i HATE being pressured into doing anything. kindly ask me to do something but don't NAG me! CRAP! i was so irritated. but i had to play nice and not show it while i talked to her. but daymn. i'm not going to talk to my ma for a while cuz i'm really tired of... everything!

what else is new...
good times good times with the Movement Crew! i'm getting to know all of them more and we're staring to roll with all of them. it was a long day yesterday with the workshop, Yasmin's Birthday :), and then rehearsal that i was spacing out and then Gemma asked if i was okay :p but things are starting to click. slowly but surely we'll get there and i'm proud to be a part of em. i'm starting to also get into one of my roles, even though it's for a couple of seconds.

production workshop...
i signed up for a "How to be a Producer" workshop with AATC and i started the class yesterday morning. LEARNED A LOT!!! Ryan Morales is the the instructor and he looks a little younger than me, but he has a ton of experience. and it's real world experience! not just from a book or something. before we started with the nuts & bolts of the class, he first gave us a "personality" test. it determined what type of 4 different personalities you are. then from this test we got a cheat sheet on how to best work with the other 3 personality types. i liked how he introduced this first because this is the FIRST thing to know as a producer - how to deal with people of all types. then he went through the 3 different types of shows to produce. again, i learned a lot! unfortunately, there's only 2 classes. so the next one is the last one. next class... playwriting on Wednesday night!

oh, i talked to my SD sister this morning and said that she was hopefully coming up next month. I do hope that she, and my friends, come down to check our play out. we're working real hard and we'll definitely put on a great show! (i hope) at any rate, i just wanna see all of em come through if they can. speaking of which, i can't wait to see McBeth! Sux, cuz i thought that i had the 29th off (well that's what the rehearsal calendar says) but we might be crunching out our play that night!

nite!

man, i'm tired. ok, better get going!

good rehearsal

so we had a really productive rehearsal today plus learned some great warm-ups:
- lightning circle: one person does a move (yell yeehaww and point both index fingers to the person on your right) and that move goes around the circle. finished when everyone gets to do a move.
- a dancing one: there's a callout where a person in the middle of the circle calls out a person in the circle to do a dance move and everyone does it.

i know that there's one more, but can't think of it now.

at first i didn't want to go, but i had to. didn't want to let anyone down, PLUS we only have ONE MONTH before opening! scary, but hopefully things will pull together. eeks, i need to find costumes. i hope that i can find some fatigues or something that looks like soldier/police outfits!

i'm really excited about one of my scenes where i get to hit someone. never did that before on stage. we still haven't been able to do any shadow work yet, but hopefully we'll get the chance. julius put up our AWESOME screen tonight. it's an amazing sheet, well sheets of paper taped/glued together that like 15 feet wide. oh so cool!

better go, but one of the best rehearsals so far! can't wait til the whole show comes together. nyt!

crap. can't sleep again.

i should be working on something, but i guess i'm just in a... mood. listening to crazy old songs on imeem. first hi-five den jodeci, and now swv's weak. just thinking. thinking about some of the friends that i hold dear and of whom i would be forever lost without. 'yon lang.

wondering where time has gone. again with the time thing :) but it's been an okay day i guess. my new employee jenn started today and right off the bat she had problems with her computer. not a good impression on our part. but then again, when jim and alf first started, they had hecka probs with their computers too and passwords. we're almost done with all that stuff, thanks to some cool friends at work - or their just bored and didn't have anything better to do.

anyways after work, went to theater for a web meeting. (now listening: monica - angel of mine) before the meeting, we took all of the mementos of all the bindlestiff shows off the walls. a lot of true PilAm history covered that wall, and i was proud to be a part of that wall before moving. so i looked at the cast picture very fondly. then i had to put manny's panties off the wall and into the box, next to the dildo Rach used in the LE2 show! good times, good times! meeting went well. very professional. ooo... also might do some work for MYX.com. just helping out with something, nothing big, but i hope to help out!

can't wait for the playwriting workshops to start! first one is next wednesday night. oh, sunday's gonna be talagang (now: brandy - i wanna be down) crazy! i have a "how to be a producer" workshop with AATC from 9 - Noon. Den a bday party for Yasmin Malaya from 1 - 4. and after that, 5 - 9 is back at the stiff for rehearsal! whew! that's gonna be an adventure! hmmm... what can i get for a 1-year-old?

ok, better get some work done.

another life...

so i was chillin at the sac fiesta when b came up to me. it was really nice seein' him again, and i honestly miss the guys! all of em, even spannow with his f'd up republican views that turned into a shouting match between him and i - and him and jeff that one time. but yeah. i think he said that rilose got fired! but i'm sure he'll come back cuz i think he got fired a couple of other times even before i got there. that was definitely a "life's experience" working there. so many different characters who worked there!

brum - always looked high, but was always cool. he was always the butt of a lot of jokes and took a lot of ribbing, but he has one of the purest hearts i know of someone.

r - so cool and laid back. entrepreneurial too - business like.

tofu - and i'm pretty sure that was his name! he was a cool cat... who had a real interesting "hobby." pretty good dj too.

spannow - my main man despite our MANY differences. b said that he talks about me and i feel bad about not talking back. i'll talk about that more later. but i'd love to challenge him to a game of fooseball again - and get my ass kicked, for old times sake.

jeff - the only person i know that doesn't have a cellphone because 1) the danger of brain cancer & 2)his theories about the government watching over you! but the man was SO SMART. scary smart. i can still remember when his keyboard would stick and he'd be slamming his keyboard around, and me and spannow would be CRACKING up!!!

jt - jt, jt, jt. that man was - out there. a really nice guy who talked about his plants, but he always stayed himself. i admire that.

david - an interesting bloak. he's english and i learned the phrase about "marrying scenes" about video editing...

loryn - uhhh... yeah.

redeyes - cocky muthaf*cker! he'd always show up to work looking like he just drove in from the beach. he knew his stuff, but i never did know what he did.

red - the coolest guy. i'm so sorry for leavin' him high and dry.

and finally LENSMAN - that bastard! the most outrageous CEO that i've ever worked for! i worked there for 1 week and already told him that I QUIT! then he offered me a $10 raise. crap. he had some good points... at times. him and his cars though, and the most proudest of the BRAND NEW car that he bought for $800. and then he sold it for something like $8000. he only had 12 cars... i can still remember hearing "Lens got a new car..." and all of us would run out back and take a look at his new ride. bastard!

so i just talked about this cast of interesting people, the wildest bunch under one roof, but they were all cool and i do miss them. but for a reason, i've burned down that bridge. maybe i'm being snooty, but this bunch were REAL, and honestly, i never felt like i fit in their world - but i truly respect each and every one of them to the nth degree... well except for some :p kidding. miss those guys.
